Case study
Rebuilding a 45-year-old manufacturer’s digital presence
European fashion buyers needed to land on the site and immediately understand what Gupta & Company can produce, how they produce it, and why they can be trusted with a bulk order.
About the client
Founded in 1980 by Dr. S. K. Gupta, Gupta & Company has spent over four decades manufacturing premium womenswear and menswear for leading European retailers across France, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands. Now led by Managing Director Ashish Gupta, the company runs three factories, employs 700+ people, and produces up to 600,000 pieces a year — backed by certifications including SA8000, GOTS, and GRS.
It’s a serious manufacturing operation with a serious buyer base: European fashion brands deciding whether to trust a supplier with their next collection. The website needed to reflect that.
The problem
The old site wasn’t doing the business justice. For a company whose main sales channel is trust-building with European retailers who may never set foot in the Chennai factories, the website was the first — and sometimes only — impression of the operation.
-
01
Outdated design
It didn’t read as a modern manufacturing partner to international buyers evaluating it.
-
02
Slow load times
A real friction point for a site meant to make a fast first impression.
-
03
Capabilities weren’t visible
Little on how the company actually works: factories, capacity, sampling, or production systems.
-
04
No SEO foundation
The site wasn’t structured to be found by buyers searching for manufacturing partners.
What we built
The brief from the client was clear: speed, and clarity on capability. Several rounds of content and structure revisions with the client preceded launch. Here’s what that turned into on the live site.
-
01
Faster & optimized — speed as the priority
Load speed was the client’s single biggest concern, so it drove every build decision rather than being an afterthought. The site was custom-coded and optimized end-to-end — lean assets, efficient page structure, no bloated theme framework — so the first impression a buyer gets is a fast, responsive site, not a spinner.
-
02
Mobile-responsive layout
International buyers and merchants don’t always evaluate a supplier from a desktop. The site was built to look and function as well on a phone or tablet as it does on a large screen, so the experience holds up no matter how someone finds their way in.
-
03
Customer-focused, custom-built
Rather than starting from a template, the site was built from the ground up around how a buyer actually evaluates a manufacturing partner — what they want to see first, what builds trust, and what moves them toward getting in touch. Every page was shaped around that journey, not a generic layout.
-
04
Technical SEO, SMO & AIO from the ground up
Discoverability was built in from day one — technical SEO (structured metadata, page titles, descriptions, semantic content) so the site ranks with search engines, social optimization (SMO) so it represents the brand well when shared, and AI/answer-engine optimization (AIO) so the site is structured to be correctly understood and surfaced by AI-driven search and assistants — not retrofitted after launch.
-
05
Capabilities, explained
The site now tells the manufacturing story instead of leaving buyers to guess: factory capacity, sampling and bulk production numbers, certifications, CLO 3D digital prototyping, and the end-to-end process from design to quality assurance. A buyer can understand what Gupta & Company can do and how they do it without needing a call first.
-
06
Multiple contact channels and clear CTAs
Every path a buyer might want to reach out through is covered — phone, email, and WhatsApp — with clear calls-to-action placed throughout the site rather than buried on a single contact page, so interest turns into an inquiry as easily as possible.
